It seems Biden is in attack-dog mode these days. He has now implicitly questioned Sarah Palin’s decision to raise a Down syndrome baby but oppose government funding for embryonic stem cell research.

Meanwhile, the CNN web site (which, incidentally, is now running an Obama puff piece on the front page as I write this) has perpetuated the liberal attack that Palin has actually reduced funding for special needs programs as governor of Alaska. Factcheck.org, a non-partisan site, has debunked this baseless attack. The truth? Gov. Palin has tripled such funding over the past three years. Joe Biden, you can’t handle the truth.
Update: Here’s Allahpundit’s take. I think he’s right that Biden’s comments pale in comparison with the Bristol Palin saga, but those shameful attacks weren’t perpetuated by the Obama-Biden ticket. Here you have a man many Americans probably don’t even realize is running for vice president clearly joining the Palin pile-on despite the political ramifications of doing so. On this, Allahpundit and I are in complete agreement: Biden has stepped in it.
