Lynn Sweet concurs with my assessment of yesterday that McCain’s decision to halt his campaign was brilliant, and that Obama now finds himself behind the ball.
And, in case an earlier commenter was still in denial about this, Obama only called McCain yesterday morning to urge a joint statement, not the cessation of campaigning and the postponement of the first debate. The Maverick stepped up to the plate on his own initiative. Only the Obamaphile, elitist media will think poorly of McCain’s decision, I predict. But they weren’t so high on the Mac in the first place.
